Crystal Cathedral: Rev. Schuller loses court appeal

A U.S. District judge denied an appeal by Rev. Robert H. Schuller, saying the founder of the Crystal Cathedral Ministries was an employee working under an employment agreement and subject to a one-year cap on damages.

Judge R. Gary Klausner upheld on May 23 a decision by U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert Kwan in Los Angeles.

Last November, Kwan awarded Schuller $615,625, a fraction of the amount sought by Schuller and family members.

Schuller and his wife, Arvella, sought more than $5 million.
